Arch Frame by Michael Jackobo
This is another picture from the Roman Forum in Athens. The spot from where I took it, is next the bath house of the winds and it is one of the first places I picked when I began exploring infrared photography. For that reason, even though I have taken countless images from there, I still check the scene whenever I pass by and occasionally, I may snap a shot.
For this photo I as drawn by the person standing on the lower right corner of the arch. When I tried to take the shot, I realized that it would not give an interesting result, so I began thinking of other ways to make the photo. I chose to use the arch as a frame to the scenery behind it and see how the different layers interacted with one another in the final image.
Although I don’t find this particular first attempt in the arch frame very successful, I feel that the idea behind it can give something good in the future, with the necessary practice and patience.
