Conjunction by Michael Jackobo

The Moon, Venus and Mars placed in conjunction on the night sky with Jupiter being close to the group. Venus is the bright star below and to the left of the Moon, Mars is above Venus and Jupiter is to the top right of the frame. The other small star close to Venus is called Zavijava (or Beta Virginis) and it is part of the constellation of Virgo.
This is the scene I witnessed when I woke up early one morning, obviously before sunrise. This number of stars close together is rare on the night sky of a city, because of light pollution and the presence of the crescent moon in this stellar group drew attention to the spectacle. It was only natural for me to get back inside and take my camera to capture this apparent conjunction of almost half the planets in the solar system.
