Smoke Trails by Michael Jackobo.

Although I like military aircraft, I have never been to the main event of an air-show. But I have been twice to the Faliro pre-show of the Athens Flying Week, in Greece.
This year, the pre-show was not as impressive as the previous one, mainly due to less aerobatics from the aircraft. The most impressive display came from the F-16 of the Belgian Airforce, with its high speed maneuvers and the use of decoy flares, making it an amazing experience.
Here, the pilot has just fired some flares during an ascend (the second picture included in the post) and then he rolled the aircraft back to come down again. I took the photo the moment he seems to be heading to the path of the smoke trails from the flares.
The third photo is from another ascend while firing flares. Although a nice shot on its own, I believe the photograph with the smoke trails has a bigger story to tell.
The other two photos are the F-16 and an AH-64 Apache helicopter flying on the lines made by the clouds.

Γραμμές Καπνού.

Παρά το γεγονός ότι μου αρέσουν τα στρατιωτικά αεροσκάφη, δεν έχω πάει ποτέ στις κύριες εκδηλώσεις μιας αεροπορικής επίδειξης. Έχω πάει δύο φορές όμως στο pre-show του Athens Flying Week που γίνεται στο Φάληρο. Αυτή τη χρονιά το θέαμα δεν ήταν τόσο εντυπωσιακό όσο πέρσι, κυρίως επειδή τα αεροπλάνα δεν έκαναν πολλά ακροβατικά. Την πιο εντυπωσιακή εμφάνιση την έκανε το F-16 της Βελγικής Αεροπορίας, με τους γρήγορους ελιγμούς και τη χρήση φωτοβολίδων, που έδωσαν ένα φανταστικό αποτέλεσμα.
Εδώ, ο πιλότος έχει μόλις ρίξει μερικές φωτοβολίδες κατά μια κάθετη άνοδο (η δεύτερη φωτογραφία του άρθρου) και μετά γύρισε το αεροπλάνο για να κατέβει πάλι. Τράβηξα τη φωτογραφία όταν φαινόταν να πηγαίνει προς τον καπνό από τις φωτοβολίδες.
Η τρίτη φωτογραφία είναι από μια άλλη κάθετη άνοδο. Παρά το ότι είναι ωραία εικόνα, θεωρώ ότι αυτή με τις γραμμές του καπνού έχει περισσότερα πράγματα να πει.
Οι άλλες δύο εικόνες είναι το F-16 και ένα Απάτσι (AH-64 Apache) να πετάνε πάνω στις γραμμές που δημιουργούν τα σύννεφα.
