Concrete Rectangles by Michael Jackobo

In the entrance of the town of Arta in western Greece, behind the tourist bus station, is a relatively large park with a small lake in it. Although I know of it and I have been to the town many times in the previous years, I have never visited/explored it. This summer I decided to go to this park and see if there was anything there worth capturing on camera.
I went in the morning and there were not a lot of people; some runners, bikers and mothers with their babies. The place itself doesn’t have many interesting things for a photographer, as there are few structures and the rest is just a circular walkway around the lake.
These concrete rectangles are some of the few human structures and they are behind the stage of a small theatre. I took a picture of them because I like architectural shots and to see whether I could make a good photograph from something unimpressive. I couldn’t think of an impressive title so I named them Concrete Rectangles.

Τσιμεντένια Ορθογώνια

Στην είσοδο της πόλης της Άρτας, πίσω από το σταθμό των υπεραστικών λεωφορείων, υπάρχει ένα σχετικά μεγάλο πάρκο με μια μικρή λίμνη μέσα του. Παρά το ότι ξέρω για το πάρκο και έχω πάει στην πόλη πολλές φορές τα τελευταία χρόνια, δεν το είχα επισκεφτεί ποτέ. Αυτό το καλοκαίρι αποφάσισα να πάω να δω αν υπήρχε κάτι που να αξίζει να το φωτογραφίσω.
Πήγα πρωί και δεν υπήρχαν πολλοί άνθρωποι˙ μερικοί δρομείς, ποδηλάτες και μητέρες με τα μωρά τους. Το μέρος δεν έχει μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον για ένα φωτογράφο καθώς δεν υπάρχουν πολλές κατασκευές και το υπόλοιπο είναι ένας κυκλικός περίπατος γύρω από τη λίμνη.
Αυτά τα τσιμεντένια ορθογώνια είναι από τις λίγες ανθρώπινες κατασκευές και βρίσκονται πίσω από τη σκηνή ενός μικρού θεάτρου. Τα τράβηξα φωτογραφία επειδή μου αρέσουν οι αρχιτεκτονικές λήψεις και για να δω αν θα μπορούσα να βγάλω κάτι καλό από κάτι αδιάφορο.
