Accidental Shot by Michael Jackobo

This is an accidental shot which came out extremely good. It was taken in an event which attracted a lot of people. I had arranged to meet a friend there but she was late and when she finally arrived, it was difficult to see each other as the whole crowd was between us. We were trying to get the bearing of each other by phone and at some point I lifted the camera, which had the telephoto lens attached, to pinpoint my location. I couldn’t see where the lens was pointing to, but I had the inspiration to press the shutter and see later what it captured.
It is strange that a lucky and accidental shot came out so good and the people who have see it so far did not understand that it was unintentional. I find almost everything perfect in the photo -the composition, the framing, the pose of the girl- and I cannot leave it go wasted.

Τυχερή Φωτογραφία

Αυτή είναι μια τυχερή λήψη που βγήκε εξαιρετικά καλά. Τραβήχτηκε σε μια εκδήλωση που είχε προσελκύσει πολύ κόσμο. Είχα κανονίσει να συναντήσω μια φίλη εκεί αλλά είχε αργήσει και όταν τελικά έφτασε, ήταν δύσκολο να δούμε ο ένας τον άλλον με όλο το πλήθος ανάμεσα μας. Προσπαθούσαμε να βρούμε που στεκόταν ο άλλος μέσω τηλεφώνου και κάποια στιγμή σήκωσα τη φωτογραφική, που είχε πάνω της τον τηλεφακό, για να δείξω που βρίσκομαι. Δεν μπορούσα να δω που κοιτούσε ο φακός, αλλά είχα την έμπνευση να πατήσω το κουμπί του κλείστρου και να δω μετά τι τράβηξε.
Είναι παράξενο που μια τυχερή λήψη βγήκε τόσο καλή και οι άνθρωποι που την έχουν δει μέχρι τώρα δεν έχουν καταλάβει ότι είναι αθέλητη. Θεωρώ σχεδόν τα πάντα τέλεια στη φωτογραφία -τη σύνθεση, το κάδρο, την στάση του κοριτσιού- και δεν μπορώ να την αφήσω να πάει χαμένη.
