Train Tracks to the Ship Wreck by Michael Jackobo

I knew of the ship wreck of Mediterranean Sky for many years, even before I got involved with photography but so far, I had tried only once to go there; that attempt wasn’t much of a success. Not a long time ago, I was taking with a photographer friend and I mentioned this ship wreck. He told me that he knew the way to go down there and we arranged to go together. Early one morning, we took the road to that place.
These train tracks are not functional any more, which is a relief as almost the whole way, after leaving the car, involved walking parallel to the tracks. At some point we started seeing our destination and that’s when I took the photo of my friend walking on the tracks and the ship wreck on the background.
I the near future, when I finish with the photographs with people, I will begin posting the images taken that day.

Γραμμές Τρένου προς το Ναυάγιο

Ένας άντρας περπατάει στις γραμμές του τρένου με ένα ναυάγιο στο φόντο. Γνώριζα για το ναυάγιο του Mediterranean Sky εδώ και πολλά χρόνια, πριν ακόμα ασχοληθώ με τη φωτογραφία αλλά μέχρι τώρα, μόνο μια φορά είχα προσπαθήσει να πάω εκεί -μια όχι ιδιαίτερα επιτυχημένη απόπειρα. Πριν λίγο καιρό, μιλούσα με ένα φωτογράφο φίλο μου και του ανέφερα το ναυάγιο. Μου είπε ότι ήξερε τη διαδρομή μέχρι εκεί και κανονίσαμε να πάμε μαζί. Ένα πρωινό πήραμε το δρόμο για εκείνο το μέρος.
Οι γραμμές του τρένου δεν είναι σε λειτουργία, πράγμα καλό, γιατί το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της διαδρομής, αφού βγήκαμε από το αυτοκίνητο, απαιτούσε να περπατάμε παράλληλα στις ράγες. Κάποια στιγμή αρχίσαμε να βλέπουμε και τον προορισμό μας και τότε ήταν που τράβηξα αυτή τη φωτογραφία, με τον φίλο μου να περπατάει στις ράγες και το ναυάγιο στο φόντο.
Σύντομα, όταν τελειώσω με τις φωτογραφίες με ανθρώπους, θα αρχίσω να ανεβάζω τις εικόνες εκείνης της μέρας.
