The Lumen Prize Exhibition by Michael Jackobo
Two women are standing next to a video projection on the floor at the Lumen Prize Exhibition. The photo was taken at Onassis Cultural Centre which hosted the exhibition in Greece. The visit there was a part of a seminar I was attending regarding Modern Art.
The actual story for the photo is not very long. there two women were classmates during that period and they are watching a video projected on the floor. As I was looking at the artwork on the still pictures section when I came upon them and I took a shot as they were standing there. Somehow, the image gives me the impression that the one on the left is floating in the air and in conjunction with the pointing hand of the other girl, I decided to post it.
As for my opinion on the exhibition itself, some works in the still images section were worthwhile but in general it showed what is wrong with postmodern art.

The Lumen Prize Exhibition
Δύο γυναίκες στέκονται δίπλα σε ένα βίντεο που προβάλλεται στο πάτωμα στη Lumen Prize Exhibition. Η φωτογραφία τραβήχτηκε στη Στέγη Γραμμάτων και Τεχνών που φιλοξένησε την έκθεση στην Ελλάδα. Η επίσκεψη εκεί ήταν μέρος ενός σεμιναρίου που παρακολουθούσα σχετικά με τη Μοντέρνα Τέχνη.
Η ιστορία της φωτογραφίας δεν είναι ιδιαίτερα μεγάλη. Καθώς κοιτούσα τα έργα στον τομέα με τις σταθερές εικόνες όταν τις συνάντησα, οπότε τις τράβηξα όπως στέκονταν εκεί. Η εικόνα μου δίνει την εντύπωση ότι η κοπέλα που στέκεται αριστερά, αιωρείται στον αέρα και σε συνδυασμό με τη χειρονομία της άλλης κοπέλας, αποφάσισα να την ανεβάσω.
Όσον αφορά τη γνώμη μου για την έκθεση, μερικά έργα στις σταθερές εικόνες ήταν αξιόλογα αλλά γενικά έδειχνε τι είναι λάθος στη μεταμοντέρνα τέχνη.
